:: Houseboat ::
This is my newest painting 'Houseboat' I have a floating shop in the new Brooke St Ferry Terminal. I love it there, and the theatre, and it made me want to paint this. Hope you like it!

Phosphoresence::
This is me new painting 'Phosphorescence'. I have just got up early, lit a fire and seen the last star (but it feels like the first one for the day) and a stunning Tasmanian sunrise. This painting is about so many feelings that are hard to pin down; but is essentially about reaching out to something so far away it's intangible, I'm not sure I will ever stop. I love stars; they are like a photograph, a light from far away, long ago, a message..

Book of Flight::
This is my latest painting:: Book of Flight.
I painted it to go with Book of Birds and am doing another one also. I like the idea of working that way a bit more; sort of like a string of thoughts or a progression through something, the effect of things or a process of discovery. The owls symbolise wisdom, and they are from a book. One owl is beautifully free and open and the other unsure. The ribbons are from the owls captivity and symbolise this restraint. The ribbons have become beautiful and part of the owl, as they have on her. I love ribbons, it's like they tell us what cannot be seen; the slightest movement in the wind, the muscle in the sky, the gravity of a person that the ribbon can push from like magnets positive/positive or even that plummet like a kite, when gravity takes over. I like the emptiness in this picture. It can be a fearful thing an open expansive space as it offers no reassurance to what is occurring, to what could be.

New love::
This is my new painting. I really enjoyed painting it! I love wallpaper and was inspired by a dear friends stunning crochet work in the same colours. We get together for very long coffees and she makes her lovely work... I would like to do some more paintings with wallpaper it's such a wintery indoor thing. I would love to wallpaper our kitchen but will have to paint about it instead, I think house reno's are a bit overrated anyway! My days pretty much consist of coffees, brownies, a bit of frolicking and then back to painting, I love our winters.
